Sword Animation®
(Sacred martial
arts from the West Tradition)
This is a defense and fight ritualistic technique and is traced back to western traditions of the Latin, Jewish, Anglo- Saxons and Germanic people.
The Sword
Movement helps to acquire a central force, making one mobile and attentive,
flexible and dynamic whether to perform a person's posture than his attitude in
living.
Results have
shown that people can reduce tension, overcome fears or deal with haunting
thoughts. They give people a better sense of "to be here and now", they feel to
become more active as they learn how to react at the right moment and in the
right way. They discover their sacred center with a method that was typical of
the medieval Cavalry, that is our Western Tradition.
The Sword is
not only an armour of medieval wars, but has got a high symbolic significance.
It represents the union between sky and earth, male and female, it is our
central vertebral column which supports the entire body.
The birth of
this technique is lost in the past, some traces have been discovered among the
warriors caste of Sparta, it was also used by the Roman Legion of "Triturantes".
It was only in 1400 that some postures were added in relation to defense
movements used by the German school. All the rest is part of an oral tradition
passed during centuries from Master on disciples.
The path of the discipline of Sword Movements is characterized by
Symbolism of the Sword
- Free and stable movement with the Sword
- Free and Formal combats.
- Active and passive Meditation
- Assuming a geometric position with or without the Sword.
- Contact with Nature and it's energy.
The path is subdivided into different levels of maturity, each one characterized
by various attributes (animal, colour, stone..) which symbolically represent the
type of "work" in which a person is involved.
The training often takes place in natural open spaces, to improve fantasy and intuition that help us in the research of our inner and forgotten ability.
